Honor buys PvP gear in World of Warcraft: Forever, while Rank Points advance your rank. Blizzard’s PvP overview lists rewards from a tabard at rank 1 to epic weapons at rank 14. This guide keeps the reward lookup beside the gear-upgrade requirements, progress-panel instructions and Legacy milestones.
Honor and Rank Points

Blizzard says it reviewed battleground Honor gains so players would not choose
Alterac Valley solely for efficiency. On the WoW: Forever Podcast, developer Tim Jones said
Alterac Valley is “probably a little less lucrative when it comes to Honor gains” while the other battlegrounds became much more lucrative, naming
Warsong Gulch,
Arathi Basin and
Darkspear Islands (Wowhead’s report, summarized in our Alterac Valley Honor report). Neither source publishes income rates, so the fastest battleground for ranking is still unknown.
The 14-rank reward lookup
The top titles are Grand Marshal for Alliance and High Warlord for Horde. Blizzard lists these rank requirements for purchases:
| Rank | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tabard |
| 2 | PvP trinket |
| 3 | Cloaks |
| 4 | Necklace |
| 5 | Combat potions |
| 6 | Tabard |
| 7 | Battle Standard |
| 8 | Epic bracers / epic belt upgrade token |
| 9 | Epic boots upgrade token |
| 10 | Epic gloves upgrade token |
| 11 | Mounts |
| 12 | Epic legs / epic shoulders upgrade token |
| 13 | Epic chest / epic helm upgrade token |
| 14 | Epic weapons |
The source does not publish the Rank Points needed for each rank or a numeric weekly cap. The table establishes reward access, not how many weeks a rank takes.

Check progress and plan an epic upgrade
- Open the Character Pane with the default C key.
- Select the Player vs. Player tab on the right.
- Check your rank, current Rank Points and available rank-based purchases.
Honor buys a blue-quality set and an epic-quality set. To upgrade to the epic version, Blizzard says you need the blue piece plus an Emboldened Seal. Seals have rank requirements before purchase. Keep the corresponding blue piece for the upgrade; reaching a reward rank alone does not supply all of its required purchases.
The overview does not give each Seal’s rank requirement or a complete Honor price list. Its reward list also mixes epic pieces and upgrade tokens, so it does not identify a separate token for every slot.

PvP milestones that also earn Legacy Points
The Legacy explainer adds goals beyond gear purchases. Reaching ranks 3, 7, 10, 13 and 14 earns five Legacy Points in total. Reaching Exalted with each of four battleground reputations adds four points. The week 4, 7 and 10 quests of the Field of Honor Season’s Journey add three more.
The PvP overview says seasonal weekly tasks grant Honor and Rank Points, with three tasks also granting a Legacy Point. It says those Legacy-linked tasks remain available in future seasons. The Legacy explainer identifies the three weeks; neither source provides a full task walkthrough. Use the Legacy guide for the account-wide points and character-specific spending rules.

Dated beta changes to Honor
Blizzard’s development notes record the following changes through the October 16 post, checked October 23. The dates identify updates, not client build numbers.
| Update | Change |
|---|---|
| October 1 | Most Honor costs for PvP gear and upgrade tokens increase by approximately 50 percent. |
| October 1 | The Honor cap increases from 15,000 to 25,000. |

These notes describe beta changes. They do not establish final launch prices or the weekly Rank Points cap. The PvP system page covers the wider battleground announcement, and the original news report preserves the announcement context.
