WoW Forever · Character names
Character name generator
WoW: Forever characters have a first name and a second name. Pick a race, generate two-part names and keep the ones you like. Each part is checked against Blizzard's general character rules.
Blizzard Entertainment · Create a Name of Your Own in WoW: Forever · World of Warcraft Naming Policy · Checked 2026-10-17.
This tool cannot tell you whether a name is taken. The full combination must be unique within your region, and Blizzard does not guarantee a name.
Early name reservation runs October 27 through November 3 for eligible upgrade purchases, and names are first come first served. Dates and packs are in the release date, beta and price guide.
Name generation needs JavaScript. The naming rules below apply without it.

What Blizzard says about Forever names
From Create a Name of Your Own in WoW: Forever (Blizzard Entertainment), checked 2026-10-17.
- Each character has two names, a first name and a second name.
- The full combination must be unique within the region; two characters can share a first name if the full names differ.
- Names must follow the in-game code of conduct for names.
- Certain names, words, spellings and repeated-character patterns may be restricted, including names that cause confusion or impersonate Blizzard or the WoW team.
- Both parts are evaluated together, so splitting a restricted word across the two names does not necessarily work.
- Early name reservation runs October 27 through November 3, 2026 for eligible upgrade purchases, first come first served. A desired name is not guaranteed.
General WoW character rules
Listed in the World of Warcraft Naming Policy (Blizzard Entertainment), checked 2026-10-17. That policy was written for single names. This tool applies each rule to each part as a precaution and labels the result that way.
- The character name must be between 2-12 characters long.
- Accented characters are supported.
- Numbers and symbols are not supported.
- Mixed capitals and spaces are not supported.
Not established, so not enforced
Blizzard's Forever post does not state these points. The checker reports them as unknown and never rejects a name because of them.
- Whether the 2-12 letter limit applies to each part, to the combination, or differently.
- Whether a second name is required.
- Which characters, spellings and repeated-character patterns are restricted.
- Whether the full name is currently available in your region.
All player-made names must follow the Blizzard Code of Conduct. That depends on meaning, so this tool does not check it.
How the names are made
Each first name joins syllables, and each second name joins two words, from tables written for Realm First. The tables are design choices that suggest a sound for each race. They are not official lore names, and a generated name can match an existing character or NPC by chance. The list includes both Skyborne options recorded in the race pages.
