Warrior level 60 guide
Level 60 · Theorycraft
Warrior is a melee class with three trees: Arms (two-handed melee DPS), Fury (dual-wield melee DPS) and Protection (shield tank). At 60 their rage spending and equipment needs differ; a leveling priority does not settle the raid choice. This guide links the Warrior talent trees, sourced builds and beta gear lists. Level-60 advice remains theorycraft; each section keeps its source and recorded level.

Theorycraft · Level 60Sources checked , talent names
No checked source supplies tested level-60 boss rotations, mitigation thresholds or weapon rankings; these are provisional role plans.
Arms
Melee DPS · Level 60 theorycraft
Plan around
Mortal Strike,
Bloodthrill and a two-handed weapon; compare
Weaponmaster with the weapon you can obtain.
Spells and talents mentioned
Ability priority

Keep your
Rend active on durable, bleedable targets for
Bloodthrill.
Reserve rage for
Mortal Strike and available
Overpower before spending on
Heroic Strike.
Use
Sweeping Strikes for paired targets; fit
Whirlwind around stance changes and available rage.
Reassess spending when
Execute becomes available rather than continuing a full-health cycle.
Stats to compare
- Weapon damage
- Hit
- Strength
- Attack power
- Crit
- Compare two-handed weapon damage before small armor-slot stat gains.
- Consider hit, Strength, attack power and crit without importing Classic boss caps.
Evidence limits and 2 sources
- The source extrapolates a level-60 rotation from pre-release talents and Classic experience; bleed immunity and frequent target swaps need testing.
Fury
Melee DPS · Level 60 theorycraft
Evaluate
Bloodthirst,
Flurry and
Raging Blows as a dual-wield damage package, with Furious
Precision considered in gear comparisons.
Spells and talents mentioned
Ability priority

Start damage after the tank establishes threat and maintain
Battle Shout.
Fund
Bloodthirst before
Whirlwind; spend surplus rage on
Heroic Strike or
Cleave for additional targets.
Plan
Death Wish around a damage window that is safe for you.
Shift spending toward
Execute when available while watching threat.
Stats to compare
- Weapon damage
- Hit
- Strength
- Crit
- Compare both weapons and their damage before assuming a raid upgrade from stats alone.
- Track hit alongside talented Furious
Precision; compare Strength and crit with your equipment.
Endgame preparation
- Prepare both weapon slots instead of relying on a strong leveling main hand.
- Bind rage spenders separately so
Heroic Strike cannot exhaust the next
Bloodthirst.
Evidence limits and 2 sources
- The source does not establish level-60 rage income or a tested Fury tank build. Classic weapon-skill and hit targets are historical context.
Protection
Tank · Level 60 theorycraft
Build a shield plan around
Shield Slam,
Revenge,
Focused Rage and defensive cooldowns before pursuing extra damage.
Spells and talents mentioned
Ability priority

Establish threat with
Shield Slam and use
Revenge when available.
Maintain
Sunder Armor and assigned damage-reduction debuffs; spend spare rage only after funding core attacks. On packs, mark a kill target and distribute threat across enemies.

Plan
Shield Block and Shield Wall for dangerous damage; retain
Last Stand for emergencies.
Stats to compare
- Armor
- Stamina
- Avoidance
- Block
- Hit
- Strength
- Compare armor and Stamina for survival, then avoidance and block.
- Assess hit and Strength for threat without asserting a Forever Defense threshold.
Endgame preparation
- Equip and bind the shield setup before entering a tanking group.
- Coordinate Shield Wall timing and taunt assignments with the healer and other tanks.
Evidence limits and 2 sources
- Blizzard says absorbs no longer reduce Warrior rage gain, so the old warning against shielding rage tanks is excluded. Boss mitigation requirements at 60 remain unverified.

Changes to Warrior in WoW Forever
Notes on the BlizzCon preview trees · . The planner above shows the current beta trees.
Each branch has its own trigger: Arms turns
Rend into
Overpower chances, Fury turns taking hits and landing criticals into attack speed, and Protection turns blocks, Dodge and Parry into Rage. Blizzard confirms Warrior for both Skyborne factions. The tree details come from the observed Wowhead calculator.
The three Warrior trees
| Branch | Final-row talent | Recorded prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| Arms | ||
| Fury | ||
| Protection |
The calculator showed 51 points. Blizzard’s Deep Dive recap confirms one-point milestones at 11, 16, 21 and 31 and the existing row count.
Arms: Rend feeds Overpower
Improved Rend: more
Rend bleed damage.
Deep Wounds (needs 3 points in
Improved Rend): critical strikes apply another bleed.
Bloodthrill: melee attacks against
Rend targets can activate one
Overpower.
Weaponmaster: melee benefits change by weapon category.
Improved Slam: shorter
Slam global cooldown and cast time;
Slam no longer interrupts the swing timer.
Improved Hamstring: a chance to immobilize.
Sweeping Strikes →
Mortal Strike (final row).
Fury: Enrage, Flurry and Bloodthirst
Enrage: can activate after a damaging hit on you and raises Physical damage.
Flurry (needs 5 points in
Enrage): faster next three swings after a melee critical.
Dual Wield Specialization: more off-hand damage, Rage and hit chance.
Raging Blows:
Whirlwind also strikes with the off-hand; cheaper
Cleave.
Unbridled Wrath: melee damage can generate extra Rage, with a different amount for two-handed weapons.
Death Wish →
Bloodthirst (final row).
Protection: blocking, Rage and Shield Slam
Shield Specialization: more block chance; blocks can generate Rage.
Master of Defense (needs 5 points in
Shield Specialization): Rage after Dodge or Parry with a shield equipped.
Last Stand (needs 2 points in
Improved Bloodrage): temporary Health.
Improved Shield Bash: can add a Silence.
Vanguard:
Charge in
Defensive Stance.
Focused Rage: cheaper offensive abilities.
Concussion Blow →
Shield Slam (final row): shield-based damage, a chance to dispel a magic effect, and high threat.
Sources and limits
The What’s Next recap lists Warrior for both Skyborne factions; the Deep Dive publishes no Warrior talent list. Tree names, descriptions and prerequisites come from the Warrior calculator and its observed data response. Wowhead reconstructed the calculator from BlizzCon testing and streams before beta data was available and says damage values may vary, so the
Rend,
Enrage, block and
Shield Slam links still need beta confirmation.
