Every member of a 40-player Onyxia's Lair raid needs the Drakefire Amulet in their inventory. Alliance start with Dragonkin Menace in the Burning Steppes, Horde with Blood and Thunder in the Badlands. Both chains send you to General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire for the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion; Horde then return to Rexxar in Desolace for the amulet.

Which WoW Forever ruleset should you pick? What each one locks in before you create a character

A ruleset replaces the realm choice, and you cannot freely move between rulesets: to play under another one you create a new character there. The one transfer Blizzard describes is a dead Hardcore character, which can move to another ruleset. Only players in the same ruleset can group, run dungeons and raid together. On the PvP ruleset you can create characters for one faction only; Normal, Roleplaying and Hardcore allow both. Hardcore arrives after launch.

Where to find the nine WoW Forever dungeons: locations, entrances and faction access

Six of the nine dungeons are in the Eastern Kingdoms, from the Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge to Krol'dok Stronghold in Riverglades, and three are in Kalimdor: Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace. Blizzard marks the Hall of Thanes as an easy walk for Alliance, the Ruins of Lordaeron for Horde, and City of Dalaran as requiring an attunement questline for both factions.

WoW Forever Cooldown Manager: how to enable it and what it tracks

WoW Forever racial abilities: every change in the beta notes

In the October 15 beta build Blizzard updated racial abilities for nine races: Tauren, Dwarf, Skyborne, Human, Orc, Undead, Gnome, Night Elf and Troll. Dwarf, Human and Orc each had a weapon specialization replaced by a critical strike or critical damage bonus, Tauren and Skyborne got shorter cooldowns, and Gnome Eureka! became an 8 second buff. Can you play WoW Forever on Mac, Steam Deck, console or with a controller?

Controller play is confirmed: Blizzard lists official gamepad support and its beta notes show a gamepad UI in testing. Blizzard's beta notes also include Mac fixes. The Blizzard pages checked on October 23 say nothing about Steam Deck, Xbox or any other console.

Is WoW Forever down? Where Blizzard posts maintenance and how realmless rulesets work

In the five beta maintenance notices checked, Blizzard's community manager posted a new thread in the WoW: Forever Beta Discussion forum each time, with a few minutes to an hour of notice in four of them. The October 6 notice also described an in-game warning just before realms went offline. Blizzard has not published a fixed schedule or a status page in the pages checked. This guide cannot tell you whether the game is down right now.

How to respec in WoW Forever: reset costs and dual spec

Blizzard's beta notes show that respeccing costs gold: 1 silver if you have not changed talents recently, a much higher price for the next reset, back to 1 silver after an hour. Does WoW Forever have a dungeon finder? What the Group Finder does

WoW Forever fishing: how to fish, where to train and what boosts your skill

Fishing is a secondary profession, so it takes no primary slot. Equip a fishing pole, cast Fishing from the Professions tab at water and right-click the bobber when it splashes. Trainers teach ranks 1 to 150, a book sold in Booty Bay teaches Expert (150 to 225), and a Nat Pagle quest at character level 35 and Fishing 225 unlocks Artisan.
