Fastest way to level 1–60 in WoW Forever
The fastest way to level 1–60 in WoW Forever, as far as our sources go: follow one faction route, use your class's leveling build, run dungeon quests when a group is ready, and use camps for rested XP. A route addon cuts the planning, free Guidelime included; of the paid ones, RestedXP has Forever routes finished to 35 and Journey is free to 30 (both are Realm First partners), but the full 1–60 speed order is unconfirmed until launch. For solo play, start by comparing Beast Mastery, Affliction and Feral for pet support or less downtime. The class records below explain those picks; they do not establish a speed ranking.
Checked . Blizzard announces November 4 launch and a level cap of 60.
Rather follow an in-game arrow? Compare the leveling addons for WoW Forever, free and paid. RestedXP's Forever route is free up to level 20: see its guides and prices.

Use the interactive 1–60 roadmap for faction, zone and profession choices. This page makes the speed decisions: what to follow now, when to consider a dungeon, and what to check before buying a route.
A plan by level band
These are editorial route recommendations from the linked records. Dungeon ranges are Blizzard's published ranges, not minimum queue levels or measured speed.
Levels 1–20
Keep the starting route and class unlocks together
Choose your starting region in the roadmap, then follow your class guide for trainer visits and talents. Compare the free route sections before paying: our addon hub records RestedXP's free 1–20 and Journey's free 1–30 coverage.
Confirmed ranges: Hall of Thanes, 13–18, and Ruins of Lordaeron, 15–20. Recommendation: gather their quests before forming a group.
Levels 20–30
Use the faction quest candidates
Alliance: Redridge Mountains, Duskwood, Wetlands, Ashenvale. Open the quest candidates and sources.
Horde: Hillsbrad Foothills, Stonetalon Mountains, Ashenvale. Open the quest candidates and sources.
Source planning: these quest records were checked October 1 and have not been timed. For a group, compare Excavation Site: Wetlands, 26–31 and City of Dalaran, 28–33 with the next quest stretch.
Levels 30–40
Check where your route switches to a plan
The roadmap's beta zone records list Alterac Mountains, Arathi Highlands, Desolace and Stranglethorn Vale for the early 30s. Use its Riverglades chapter as the next planning reference. The Drowned City has a published 35–40 range.
Recommendation: check your addon's coverage boundary before following its next chapter. Journey says 30–60 begins on a Classic route; our coverage comparison records RestedXP's Forever-to-Era boundary at 35.
Levels 40–60
Choose the next chapter from published content
Use the roadmap and dungeon directory as a checklist: Krol'dok Stronghold, 40–45; Alcaz Prison, 48–53; Blackmaw Hold, 55–60; Shaper's Terrace, 58–60. Those are announced ranges, not a recommended chain of dungeon repeats.
Recommendation: keep the class build's planned points visible and compare the route's current Forever coverage before buying. Zygor's launch coverage warning applies here too.
Class picks for solo speed
Beast Mastery is our first comparison for a pet-led route: the recorded sources describe a tanking pet that scales with gear. Affliction offers drains and mana tools; Feral uses forms for combat and saves mana for healing. Frost is the comparison for ranged control. These are recommendations from the class source records, not timed winners.
The nine guides retain the disagreements between guide authors, October 15 talent changes, class quests and the planned talent points past 30. The table reads their current spec recommendations directly.
| Class and build | Why the sources pick it |
|---|---|
| Guides pick a two-hander Arms route because it reaches Sweeping Strikes and Mortal Strike on one clear path. No source measures leveling speed, so this is a reported pick, not a ranking. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| WoW Forever Guides, ConquestCapped and WoW Forever Builds pick Retribution for solo leveling: Seal of Command hits, Benediction mana savings, Pursuit of Justice speed, and Holy Strike plus Consecration from Blizzard's changes. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| All four guide sources pick Beast Mastery: the pet tanks and scales with your gear, so pet talents also keep you safer. Blizzard confirms the pet can tank in solo and small-group play. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| Sources call Combat strong from the first point, usable with any weapon type, and Blade Flurry covers two-mob pulls. Both full-length orders put Combat first. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| Sources pick Shadow: Spirit Tap and the wand cut drinking, and Shadowform at point 31 adds damage and halves Shadow mana costs. Method calls Shadow ideal for solo leveling from 40. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| Method calls Enhancement the strongest leveling spec, and ConquestCapped says shocks lost base damage and scaling, so Elemental falls behind. Enhancement reaches Stormstrike between 25 and 30, depending on the order, and Windfury Weapon at 30. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| All three guide sites pick Frost. Chills and freezes let you kill at range, and Ice Block, Ice Barrier and Frost Nova add safety. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| All three guide sites start Affliction. DoTs and drains work with a Voidwalker, and Life Tap and Drain Soul cover mana. Method says Demonology comes online later. Build, alternatives and sources | |
| Every guide read picks Feral: Bear and Cat Form fights cost no mana, so you save it for heals between pulls. WoW Forever Guides adds that it has no timed test. Build, alternatives and sources |
Dungeons or questing?

Recommendation: quest while you assemble a group; run a dungeon when its quests are ready and the group can leave. Repeating it is a decision to check against your next quest stretch, including travel and group wait time. Our dungeon quest reference and individual dungeon pages keep acquisition and access evidence separate.
Beta report: the reported development notes increased dungeon creature XP. That does not establish dungeon spam as the launch winner. RestedXP describes a mixed quest-and-dungeon route; its 1–30 dungeon guide page lists what it covers.
Rested XP and camping

© Blizzard Entertainment. Official World of Warcraft: Forever media.
Confirmed design: Blizzard's Deep Dive says to sit at a Basic Campfire and become rested to gain its buffs. It also describes Well Rested in the Adventure Legacy tree as increasing rested gains and the rested cap. Recommendation: use a camp stop for rest and services when it fits the route; we have no measured break-even time for a detour.
The camping guide explains the tutorial and source limits. For a separate beta quest route, see the Sleeping Bag guide. Follow its requirements before adding that trip to a speed route.
Route addons: what to buy, or try free
For quest markers, start with free Questie. For a free ordered guide, compare Guidelime and its route packs. A Forever download listing does not prove a complete Forever route; the dated addon evidence table separates those claims.
RestedXP, Zygor and Journey are partners. We earn a commission on purchases through our partner links.
RestedXP: compare its mixed dungeon route and per-faction guides. Our partner link takes 10% off, with no code to type. Its product page lists Forever compatibility and says development continues alongside the release.
Zygor: a subscription choice if you want its broader guide collection. The vendor announces Forever guides for November and warns the initial 1–60 update may be partial. Our link does not change the price.
Journey: try levels 1–30 free before a one-time purchase. The vendor says it routed and tested those levels in beta; 30–60 starts on a Classic route. Journey code REALMFIRST takes 10% off.
Read Blizzard's addon policy and the paid-guide question before choosing a paid guide. Realm First has not run these addons in game.
Questions

What is the fastest way to level 1–60 in WoW Forever?
Follow one faction route, use your class's leveling build, run dungeon quests when a group is ready, and use camps for rested XP. Our recommendation for less planning: a route addon, free or paid. No source gives verified 1–60 completion times or a launch speed ranking, so the full fastest order is unconfirmed until launch.

Are dungeons faster than questing?
Not established. Beta development notes reported higher dungeon creature XP, but that does not make dungeon repeats the launch winner. Quest while you form a group, then run a dungeon when its quests are ready and the group can leave.

Which class levels fastest solo?
No source has a timed class ranking. For solo play, compare Beast Mastery (a tanking pet that scales with gear), Affliction (drains and mana tools) and Feral (forms for combat, mana saved for healing). These are recommendations from the class records, not measured winners.

Does rested XP from camping matter?
Blizzard's Deep Dive says to sit at a Basic Campfire and become rested to gain its buffs, and describes Well Rested in the Adventure Legacy tree as raising rested gains and the rested cap. We have no measured break-even time for a camp detour, so use camps when they fit your route.
