WoW Forever Cooldown Manager: how to enable it and what it tracks
How to turn on the WoW Forever Cooldown Manager, which classes, racials and trinkets it supports, and what Blizzard's beta notes say is still missing.
The quick answer
The Cooldown Manager is off by default. Blizzard's beta notes say to enable it in Options under the Gameplay Enhancement settings. It started with five classes on September 24, added Rogue and racial abilities on October 1, and supports all classes, racial abilities and trinkets since October 8. Consumables are planned for a later patch.

The Cooldown Manager in World of Warcraft: Forever is disabled by default and Blizzard says to switch it on in Options. This guide collects what Blizzard’s beta notes say about turning it on, the classes it supports and the gaps that remain. The image above shows an unrelated Options panel from the game, not the Cooldown Manager menu.
How do you turn on the Cooldown Manager?
Blizzard’s beta development notes of September 24 describe the Cooldown Manager as a feature that pulls critical information from the buff bar or action bar and places it in a fully customizable location. They continue: “By default, the Cooldown Manager is disabled, and it can be enabled in Options under the Gameplay Enhancement settings.”
The notes give no further setup steps, so the Options location is the only checked instruction. How to move or resize the tracked icons is not covered. Layout editing for the rest of the interface is covered in the Edit Mode guide, a separate feature that guide describes from a Wowhead report.
Which classes can use the Cooldown Manager?
Support grew over three builds.
| Build | Support in the notes |
|---|---|
| September 24 | Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior and Warlock are available for testing. Additional classes “will become testable in future updates”. |
| October 1 | Rogue is supported. Racial abilities are supported. |
| October 8 | “All classes, racial abilities, and trinkets are now supported.” |
If you tried the feature in the first build and your class was missing, the October 8 note is the one that lists all classes as supported.

What does it track?
The October 8 note names three kinds of entries: class abilities, racial abilities and trinkets. Blizzard’s developers’ note adds: “Additional support for consumables will come in a later patch.” So consumables are not tracked in the checked builds.
Spell ranks were a known gap at first. The September 24 notes say the Cooldown Manager did not yet support spell ranks and that this would be resolved in a future beta update. The October 1 notes say duplicate entries for each spell rank on already supported classes should no longer be present. The October 15 notes state that spells with different rankings now behave as a single entry in the Cooldown Manager.
What is still missing?
Beyond consumables, Blizzard names one open request. The September 24 notes say the most desired feedback is “spells that you wish were tracked by default”. The notes do not publish that default list, so this guide cannot say which spells appear without setup. Whether the Cooldown Manager is enabled out of the box at launch is not stated either.
