How the candidates are ranked
Each slot is ranked by an editorial score using the same class stat weights as the level-20 reference lists, applied to the Wowhead Forever item report. The weights model one leveling role per class; melee and ranged weapon damage, attributes, armour and listed effects count according to those weights. When the top item is faction-locked, the top listed item for the other faction is shown beside it. Up to two next-scoring alternatives are included. These are comparisons within the stated candidate pool, not a proven global optimum or Blizzard stat priority.
- Class lens: Caster-damage leveling. Other specializations and healer or tank roles are not represented.
- Displayed stat priority: wand DPS ×1.5, mana per 5 sec 1.5, spell power 1.2, spell damage 1.2, Intellect 1, Stamina 0.35, spell penetration 0.3, Spirit 0.3. These are editorial weights reused from the level-20 comparison, not Blizzard tuning.
- Source labels: 14 of 16 ranked picks have an acquisition label in the checked Wowhead record; each row shows the label or its absence.
- Listed records: 198 item records support these lists. Reported level requirements are at or below 30; absent requirements remain labelled as unknown.
What this list does not establish
Status: Wowhead item reports ranked with editorial weights, without an in-game readback.
Show all 9 limits
- Blizzard's 1 October post announces a level-30 beta cap for the restart early on 2 October; in-game activation has not been checked.
- Item names, requirements, stats and acquisition labels are Wowhead reports. The public report has no beta build identifier, and no physical in-game readback was available for this cut.
- Rare and epic items with reported character-level requirements at or below 30, plus fixed-stat uncommon items requiring level 20 through 30. Records with absent requirements are retained only at item level 35 or below and remain unverified for equip eligibility; common, random-stat, profession-required and unsupported records are excluded. Rankings only compare records inside this pool.
- Blizzard has published no stat weights or final tuning for these lists. The displayed class role and weights are editorial assumptions; tank, healer and alternate damage builds are not ranked separately.
- An absent level requirement remains unknown. Such records only enter this pool when their reported item level is at or below 35; that filter does not verify equip eligibility at level 30.
- Missing acquisition labels remain explicit. Some item pages returned no source; other records were only read in the listview.
- Wowhead Forever item database snapshot at level 30 has no published beta build identifier; the current item report is not proof of in-game availability.
- Common items, random-stat items, profession-required equipment and unsupported records are outside this candidate pool; these rankings do not establish global best-in-slot.
- A Wowhead acquisition label does not establish that its quest, vendor, dungeon or battleground is reachable under the announced beta cap.
