WoW Forever Discord guild chat: link accounts and a channel
Connect Battle.net to Discord, link a guild chat channel with the required permissions, choose a display name and disconnect either link.
The quick answer
Players link their Battle.net and Discord accounts in Options → Social. A Guild Master or Officer separately links the guild to a Discord channel through Guild Settings → Discord Settings, with Manage Channels, View Channel and Send Messages permissions in Discord.

Discord guild chat needs two separate links: each player connects their Battle.net account to Discord, and an authorized guild member connects the guild to a Discord channel. Completing your personal link does not set up the guild’s channel.
The steps here follow Paryah’s Wowhead walkthrough, updated September 23 and read in full on October 20, 2026. This is a Wowhead report, not a Realm First client test. The page labels patch 1.60.1 but supplies no exact client build.
Connect your own accounts
Log into the Discord account you intend to use before starting.
- In the game, press Esc, open Options and select Social.
- Find Enable Discord Functionality and click Sign In.
- In the external linking flow, check the Discord account shown and click Continue.
- Confirm that the next screen identifies the intended account, then click Confirm.
- After the success screen appears, close that window and return to the game.
Back under Options → Social, choose your display-name preference. Wowhead reports that the default uses the name of your last online character in the connected guild; you can select your Discord Global Name instead.
Linking lets you read and reply to guild chat from Discord while offline or playing a character outside that guild. Messages arriving in-game from Discord carry a Discord icon.
Link the guild to a channel
This part requires a Guild Master or Officer. Wowhead says the Guild Master has the necessary guild permissions automatically and can grant the Officer role. In the chosen Discord channel, the person setting up the link needs Manage Channels, View Channel and Send Messages.
Choose the destination channel before linking. An existing text channel can work; a dedicated guild-chat channel can keep integration notices separate from other conversations while members connect their accounts.
- Open Guild & Communities with the default J binding.
- Select Roster, then Guild Settings at the bottom right.
- In the Guild Control dropdown, choose Discord Settings.
- Select the intended Discord server and channel.
- Click Link.
The source does not describe granting broader Discord administration rights. Check the named channel permissions rather than assuming every Discord role is sufficient.

When replies do not reach Discord
Check whether the person replying has linked their own accounts, not just whether the guild has a linked channel. Wowhead reports that an unlinked player’s in-game message produces an automated notice in Discord instead of a readable reply. The same player can therefore see a conversation in-game while people in Discord cannot read that player’s response.
This explains one documented cause of one-sided conversations. The walkthrough does not establish how to diagnose every connection failure, missing channel or service outage.
Disconnect an account or the guild channel
For your personal account link, open your Battle.net account settings, select Connections and choose Disconnect beside Discord.
For the guild channel link, return to Guild & Communities → Roster → Guild Settings → Discord Settings. Check Separate Discord chat from Guild chat, then click Unlink. These are different operations; use the one that matches the connection you intend to remove. The source does not explain whether unlinking removes previously delivered messages.
