RestedXP vs Questie for WoW Forever

RestedXP and Questie answer two different questions in World of Warcraft: Forever: "what next?" and "where is it?". Which one you need, whether to run both, and how well each handles Forever's new quests, from their files and GitHub trackers on October 23, 2026.

Short answer

RestedXP if you want a set route to follow: it plans the route, points the arrow and accepts quests for you. Questie if you want to choose quests yourself; it maps quest givers and objectives, for free.

You do not need Questie with RestedXP. Running both works, and RestedXP lists Questie as an optional companion. Expect gaps in Questie's Forever quest data for now.

Two different jobs

RestedXP: a route

  • An ordered list of steps per faction: Speedrun Guide marked done to 35, Dungeon Leveling Guide active, 35 to 60 after launch.
  • Arrow, map pins for the next steps and auto-accept and turn-in.
  • Skyborne start on Zephras Isle since October 9.
  • Addon free, guide paid; updated 18 times in 30 days.

Questie: a quest map

  • Quest givers, objectives and turn-ins from its quest data on the map and minimap, plus a tracker and a quest journal.
  • No step order and no route; an arrow only through TomTom.
  • Forever client support since September 25; Forever-only quests are added by hand.
  • Free and open source; 209.6 million CurseForge downloads across all game versions.

Running RestedXP and Questie together

  1. Install both from CurseForge or Wago and pick the Forever file of each.
  2. Leave auto-accept on in RestedXP and off in Questie, so only one addon takes quests for you.
  3. Treat a Questie marker that RestedXP's route skips as optional; the route leaves out quests that cost time.
  4. If Questie shows a quest you cannot take, that is likely its Forever data gap, not your character; issue #8040 tracks quests shown with missing prerequisites.

Questions players ask

Answers checked .

Do I need Questie with RestedXP in WoW Forever?

No. RestedXP's addon lists Questie only as an optional dependency and puts its own quest pins on the map from its Forever quest data. Install Questie as well if you want the other quests in its data on the map too; its Forever data is still incomplete.

RestedXP or Questie for WoW Forever?

They do different jobs. RestedXP is a route: it says which quest to take next and points you there. Questie is a map: it shows the quest givers and objectives it has data for and leaves the order to you. For fast leveling, RestedXP (free routes to about level 20, $27 per faction through our link for the rest); for exploring at your own pace, Questie, which is free.

RestedXP prices and our discount

Can RestedXP and Questie run together?

Yes. RestedXP names Questie as an optional companion, and Questie adds no route of its own to clash with. Keep auto-accept on in one of them only; Questie's auto-accept module is still marked "pending gameplay validation" for Forever.

Is Questie accurate in WoW Forever?

Not fully yet. Forever support shipped on September 25, but its maintainers add Forever-only quests by hand and said on October 7 that many quests show wrong and will stay that way "for quite some time". On October 23, 44 open GitHub issues mentioned Forever. Players can help by recording quests with the QuestieTrace addon.

Does Questie have a waypoint arrow?

Only with the TomTom addon installed; Questie then points towards the objective. RestedXP has its own arrow.

What do RestedXP and Questie cost?

Questie is free; its authors take PayPal donations. The RestedXP addon is free with Forever routes to about level 20; the full Forever guide is $30 per faction or $45 for both, 10% less through Realm First's link.
