Free leveling addons for WoW Forever
Four World of Warcraft: Forever leveling addons cost nothing at any level, and five paid guides give a part away. How far each one gets you, what it does, how often it ships fixes and what you give up against a paid route, from their files and pages on October 23, 2026.
Short answer
Free routes: Azeroth Pilot Reloaded (mature, Forever files up to Eastern Plaguelands, no complete 1 to 60 stated) or Polestar Guides (1 to 60 listed, more guides, still beta). Free start: Journey to level 30, ForeverWisp to 20. Map markers: Questie, free; Guidelime requires it on Forever and RestedXP lists it as optional. Is RestedXP free? The addon is, and so are its routes to level 20; what RestedXP gives away and what it charges for.
A free addon gets you a route and an arrow. Paid guides add routes by named speedrunners, a vendor to ask for support or a refund and, at RestedXP, a dungeon route and 18 releases in 30 days.

The free part of paid guides
| Guide | Free | After that |
|---|---|---|
| Journey | Levels 1 to 30, routed in the Forever beta, "free now and staying that way" | $22.50 per faction with code REALMFIRST |
| ForeverWisp | Levels 1 to 20 (eight starter routes) plus Mining, Herbalism and Skinning to 150 | €17.99 per faction pre-order |
| RestedXP | The addon is free and ships Forever routes to about level 20; the shop names no free range | $27 per faction through our link |
Joana's Guides | Classic Era starter guide 1 to 12; runs in Forever with limits | Forever price not set |
Zygor Guides | Nothing for Forever; the free Basic account has Retail and Classic samples | $15 a month (Zygor Elite) |
Journey's free part runs furthest of the paid guides, and Journey says it was tested in the Forever beta. RestedXP's free routes come in the same addon as the paid ones, so the switch at about level 20 needs no reinstall.

A free setup, step by step
- Route: install Azeroth Pilot Reloaded (with its LibTaxiData dependency) from CurseForge or Wago, or Polestar Guides from CurseForge, choosing the Forever file.
- Markers: add Questie for quest givers and objectives on the map; it is required if you choose Guidelime instead. Questie for WoW Forever has the download and install steps.
- Arrow for Questie: Questie only points with TomTom installed. The two route addons have their own arrow.
- Reinstall at launch: beta addons sit in their own folder, so install again for the live client on November 4. How to install addons in WoW Forever has the steps.
What free addons lack
Free addons
- No full dungeon leveling route stated: Azeroth Pilot Reloaded has Forever dungeon route files of unstated scope, the others list dungeon quests.
- No talent or gear plan inside the route; Polestar's class guides are separate.
- Volunteer upkeep: Polestar had 80 open GitHub issues on October 23; Questie's maintainers say many Forever quests will show wrong "for quite some time".
- No vendor behind them: bug reports go to each project's GitHub page.
What paid guides add
- RestedXP: a dungeon route for 1 to 30 and a speedrun route marked done to 35; 18 releases in 30 days.
- Journey: 1 to 30 tested in the beta, a 14-day refund window and Forever quests for 30 to 60 targeted for about a week after launch.
- Zygor: leveling guides targeted for before the November 4 launch; walkthroughs for nine new dungeons and a revised Talent Advisor announced without a date. Is Zygor free? covers its free Basic account.
Journey is a Realm First partner: sales with code REALMFIRST pay Realm First a commission, and the code takes 10% off. RestedXP is a Realm First partner: Realm First earns a commission on purchases through our link, which takes 10% off. Azeroth Pilot Reloaded, Polestar Guides, Guidelime, Questie, ForeverWisp pay Realm First nothing. The verdicts are Realm First's reading of vendor pages, download listings and code, not results from playing each addon.
Questions players ask
Answers checked .
Is there a free leveling addon for WoW Forever?
Yes, four. Azeroth Pilot Reloaded and Polestar Guides have free Forever routes with a waypoint arrow; Guidelime is a free guide viewer whose TUGs route pack covers the starting zones and 12 to 30 so far; Questie shows quests on the map without a route. All four were updated for the Forever client in October 2026.
Which free WoW Forever leveling addon is best?
Azeroth Pilot Reloaded if you want the longer track record: about four years on CurseForge, four open GitHub issues and Forever routes since September 30. Polestar Guides if you want more in one addon (class and profession guides, 10 languages) and can live with a beta that had 80 open issues on October 23.
Is RestedXP free for WoW Forever?
The addon is free and its GitHub files include Forever routes to about level 20. RestedXP's shop does not name a free range; the guide to 60 costs $30 per faction, $27 through Realm First's link.
How far does Journey's free part go?
Levels 1 to 30. Journey says that part was routed and tested in the Forever beta and stays free. From 30 the guide costs $22.50 per faction with code REALMFIRST.
Do free addons have dungeon or class guides?
Some. Polestar lists 62 class guides and a dungeon quest journal; Azeroth Pilot Reloaded has three Forever dungeon route folders and class-specific steps; the TUGs pack for Guidelime lists dungeon quest guides. None states a full dungeon leveling route like RestedXP's 1 to 30 one; the scope of Azeroth Pilot Reloaded's dungeon files is not stated.
Can I run two free addons together?
Run one route addon at a time, so you follow one arrow and one step list. Questie is the exception: it adds no route of its own, and Guidelime even requires it on Forever. Turn off Questie's optional auto-accept if your route addon accepts quests too.
